Iron age studios is a miniature commission painting service based in the UK. We offer a bespoke commission painting service from tabletop to display quality painting.
Services
Miniature painting.
The miniature painting service is exactly what you would expect. . . . we will paint your miniatures for you. We offer 3 different levels of service, each one reflecting a different standard of paint job and they are as follows:
Level 1.
Tabletop.
This is the most affordable and the most basic option and is best described as "Standard tabletop" this includes:
Assembly of the model, priming, a clean simple paint job and a decorated base.
This is ideal if you're looking to get a unit, detachment or an army battle ready in as little time as possible for an upcoming competition, game or campaign.
Level 2.
Intermediate.
Probably the most economical option with regards to time and affordability and is best descried as high tabletop standard, this is slightly more advanced than the level 1 option and includes:
Assembly of the model, priming, all areas of the model painted with base layer, shading and highlights, and a decorated base.
This tier is for those who enjoy having a fully painted army that really stands out on the tabletop. It is also a great option for single dnd characters, board game characters, kill teams, warbands etc.
Level 3.
Display.
This is the most advanced option where we really pull out all the stops. We really don't compromise on quality with miniatures painted to this standard.
This tier includes:
Assembly of the model, priming, every part of the model painted with meticulous attention to every detail.
This is suitable for individual models, monsters and characters that you want to be the focal point of your army or busts/ display pieces or small special units that you want to stand out and be able to display proudly in your cabinet.
Any advanced skills such as NMM, freehand designs, sculpted display bases, dioramas etc. would normally fall into this category.
These tiers are not strict and are flexible to suit whatever your needs may be, they are simply to give an indication of the quality you might expect from your project. For example, you may want a simple freehand design on a banner or shield in a unit but don't want the whole model painted to a tier 3 standard. In this case we would simply quote you for the unit as normal and the extra time taken to paint the freehand design.
We are passionate about what we do and treat every project as if it were our own.
We take on all types of projects from full armies, units, individual characters, display characters, busts, vehicles, dioramas, scenery pieces
basically, anything miniature. No project is too big, small or obscure and we work with you to bring your projects to life. We encourage you to contact us with your ideas and we will get back to you as soon as we can to discuss your project further.
Our pricing is reflective of the time invested in preparing, painting, basing of your projects, the material costs and the postage is always factored into the final quote. We aim to be as transparent as possible and give you a full breakdown of the costs for each project we do.

How it works.
If you are interested in commissioning some pieces and you like what we do then please get in contact with us via one of the methods shown on the contact page below and let us know what you have in mind, this could be: The models you want painting and to what standard, any reference material you want to include and we will get back to you as soon as we can and we can go from there. There will usually be a consultation period before we give you a quote, this is just to ensure that we know exactly what you are looking for and we can plan according to our schedule and quote you accordingly.
We require payment upfront for any models you want us to purchase or alternatively you can just have them sent to us yourself.
Once we have the models, we will get to work on them as soon as we can and we will send you updates on your projects so you can track their progress and be sure that things are on track.
Once your project is complete, we will also send you final pictures for confirmation before they are sent out to you.
Once the models are finished we will package them as securely as we can to make sure they arrive to you in the condition they left us. We will only post the models with tracked delivery and sufficient insurance to cover for any damages that may incur during their journey to you because we all know have nerve racking it can be when posting fragile models.
